Shame on Whom

在網上看到有人寫：

老爸，對不起了
如果我身上有任何XX人的基因．．I am shame of it.

害丁丁一口咖啡，差點沒笑得噴出來。（為免政治口水，轉移話題，基因來源在此馬賽克之了）

原文作者恥於自身的基因，還來句英文，結果恰把自己變成這個基因之恥。實在是太反諷了。

說起來，這又是英文基本觀念不清、英文聽力含混，因而產生的自造英文。

其一，shame 是名詞。試用 terror 代入：

I am (the) terror of it / the neighborhood. See? 你自己就是那個 terror。
I am (the) shame of it / mankind. 你自己正是那個 shame。

其二，正確的形容詞是 ashamed，一如 terrified：

I am terrified of it.
I am ashamed of it.

問題可能出在，當初原作者初聽別人用這句話，卻既沒聽見字頭 a，又漏聽了字尾的 d，不但像 how is going, who care 一樣，成了菜英文，還正好罵到自己。
